What to Expect During a Medical Facial
Deep Pore Cleansing:
The first step of a medical grade facial is a deep pore cleansing. At le hammam medical spa we use medical grade skin care products such as Osmosis and equipment which assist in deeper cleansing of the skin without disrupting its natural barrier function.
The second step of a medical facial at our medical spa is a thorough skin analysis and discussion of your concerns. Our medical aesthetician is trained to “see” the skin with her fingers, so she will touch your skin as she looks at it under a magnifying lamp to assess your skin needs. She will then determine your skin type and the products and treatments required for your customized medical facial.
Exfoliation, either physical (microdermabrasion diamonds) and/or Osmosis exfoliant enzymes mask stimulate cell renewal and remove dry skin. Exfoliation also allows active ingredients to absorb deeper within the skin for maximum skin renewal and optimal results.
At le Hammam medical spa, we believe that steam is an important part of the medical grade facial. Steam warms the surface of the skin, making it more receptive to treatment (masks, serums, etc.). It also enhances circulation and softens debris inside the pores for easier removal of blackheads and whiteheads.
Any congestion of the pores in the form of blackheads will be removed. Having extractions performed regularly helps keep the skin looking smooth and the complexion clear. Our medical aesthetician is trained to properly remove these impurities and treat the skin afterward.
Used at the end of the medical facial, masks help lower the temperature of the skin to reduce redness and to deeply hydrate. Masks are also important because they target specific skin conditions. They can be soothing, calming, moisturizing, purifying, or stimulating and work in different ways depending on your skin type and condition.
Tone, Hydrate and Broad Spectrum SPF
These last few steps are the most important part of the medical facial. Your skin will be hydrated by applying a moisturizer suited to your skin type. Moisturizers are imperative to any skin care routine, regardless of skin type, as they replenish much-needed water back into your skin. Lastly, our Osmosis SPF the most safe sunscreen in the market which is also encology friendly) will be applied to your skin and will protect it from damaging UVB (sunburn) and UVA (aging) rays.

We recommend a facial at least 4 times/year, basically once for every season. Ideally, a facial should be done every 4-6 weeks and this becomes especially important as we move along the age spectrum.
